WiFi QR code guests can scan
Type the network name and password, then download a code for the guest room or café table. It contains the login directly — there is no redirect or expiry, and it works offline.
How it works
- Enter the WiFi network name (SSID) and password.
- Choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP or an open network, and mark hidden networks if needed.
- Scan the preview with a phone camera, then download SVG for print or PNG for screens.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code contains the network name and password itself, not a link to a service. It keeps working as long as the WiFi details stay the same.
Can anyone who sees it join?
Yes. Treat the printed code like the password. Anyone who can scan it can join that network, so do not post it publicly or use it for a network with sensitive devices.
What do WPA, WEP and open mean?
WPA covers WPA2 and WPA3, the normal choice today. WEP is legacy and insecure. Open means no password (captive portals usually cannot be joined by a QR code).
Which phones can scan it?
iPhone cameras recognise WiFi codes on iOS 11+; most Android camera apps and Google Lens do too. Some Android versions ask for confirmation instead of joining automatically.
Does it work with hidden networks?
The code can include the hidden flag, but scanning support varies by phone. Guests may still need to type the network name manually.
What it can't do
- Your phone may not join automatically; some Android versions require a tap.
- Captive-portal networks that need a browser login are not supported.
- The password is stored in the code — anyone who scans it can read it.
